The T. streptophylla, simply known as “The Shirly Temple”, is a fascinating air plant. It has thick lime green, (if not yellow-green) leaves with a wide base. But what makes this air plant really stand out are the surrounding curls that frame the whole plant making the T. streptophylla a classically beautiful piece. When seldom watered or dehydrated, tight curls are formed. But if you’re not in favor of the air plant's tight ringlets, with frequent watering, the leaves will then extend outwards and become narrower, creating light waves instead of tight curls giving it a bolder more unique look. Its flower bracts are a red to orange gradation, while its flowers are a delicate lavender color. Another thing that makes this plant fascinating is that despite its leaves growing out and curling in all directions, it still looks beautifully put together, like an ornament that was meant for your home or garden.
